    Vetche's Pier

Hot day. Planned to swim out to top of Vetche's and descend. Swim along for while and set heading for limestone. After a short while realised visability was terrible and decided to swim back to Vetche's. Viz was 1m at stages it was less. Great dive though. Learnt that in low visability and with no boat following, navigation is essential. I saw the sand ripples on the floor and set sail back to shore. However, I was 180* out. Don called me back, we took a heading an reset the course. Always check heading when diving in these conditions!!! All I saw on this dive were a silver fish and Don, and Penny, and sand.

    Salt Pier

There was no boat anchored at Salt Pier, so we took the opportunity to dive it today. Again, the pier did not disappoint. This time we planned the dive to start at the second pillar under the conveyor and dive through the remaining four pillars before reaching the platform pillars. Where we would dive through the platform pillars, with enough time to swim from end to end, finishing off by returning to the middle and following the conveyor pillars back to shore.

    Bass Lake

Navigation Dive - Shore Dive In - 09:26 Out - 09:54 Average depth - 10.1 m Visibility - 5 m ->, 10 m | Good nav dive. Roger naved from wall perfectly. Then swam to sub along the rope. I then naved back to the wall. Buoy above grid severed from chain. I recovered chain while Roger recovered the buoy. Tied off the buoy and surfaced.
